DOULAS : THE EUROPEAN DOULA GUIDE
In January 2006, the Association Doula de France created a discussion list to
link up all doulas throughout Europe. In 2007 we though it would be of interest
to publish an accurate report on the European situation: number of organisations,
number of practicing doulas, their activites and their statistics, the type
of courses on offer ...
With this report, available to all, not only it will be easier to inform and
to facilitate networking between organisations, parents, health professionals,
government funded institutions but it will also help to the creation of a European
Doula Organisation and a core training course.

TO PROMOTE OUR CONVENTION
The whole experience of motherhood is enhanced when sharing
with other women and this major change in a woman's life can be easier if she
is getting support from other women.
Where can she find this support and how can we support women?
Find support in tour area, join a local group, discover national
projects as well as initiatives from around the world. Helping each others and
sharing our experience.
For two days
the association Doulas de France offers
to all those interested in childbirth and motherhood a space to get together,
to network and to share ... with workshops, talks, stalls, artwork exhibition
... Parents, midwives, grand-parents, health professionals and doulas are all
welcome!
The aims of these 2 days is to create support networks for
mothers, families, doulas and others working around childbirth and parenthood,
therefore the two days will be split as follow :
On May 12th we will share our experiences and our
skills at a local and international level.
On May 13th we will work on our creativity to get projects
off the ground!
We are also setting up an exhibition of a variety
of artworks to give the opportunity to artists to give you an insight into their
own vision of childbirth and motherhood. The theme
will cover pregnancy, childbirth, the baby, the woman, breastfeeding, families
with the personal touch of each artist ... (If you
wish to exhibit some artwork at the exhibition please let us know in advance)
We are planning on presenting a European Doulas Guide
as we are hoping to see the birth of a European Doulas Organisation.
We would like to launch in France the equivalent of the British Campaign : "One
woman One midwife"
These 2 days will take place during the World
